"Plantation" does not automatically connotate slavery. It just means a large estate or farm for certain types of crops. There are still plantations around today. Linking everything back to slavery like that is what trivializes slavery. It's like yelling at anyone who says they think they're going bald for trivializing chemotherapy and cancer.

Each electoral vote in the smaller states is won with fewer votes than those in larger population states. Otherwise, we may as well just hold the election in Californian and New York and forget the rest.
