I quite like stormtroopers. Their design is much better than some evil faction designs.

I do too actually, but I just watched the original again and the only time they were called precise was against the jawas and that wasn't even on screen. Six of them couldn't hit Han in the hanger, but he got at least two of them.

That first part is incorrect. The first time the are precise and actually villainous is on screen, during the boarding in A New Hope. As for the rest of the time... I think they were ordered to not kill them in A New Hope. The movie makes a lot more sense that way.

They overwhelmed the crew by numbers, but I'll grant you the entrance was fantastic (I saw the movie twice the day it came out), but ordered not to kill? Reeks of fanfiction. I get that they let them get away, but even that was stupid if you think it through. They call a rebel ship (Leia knows who's in the rebellion) and transfer her and droids to it and they are lost to the empire. Han would later get caught, but in terms of the movie's universe, so what?

And what ever happened to that tracking device? They must of found it at some point as the empire can't track them in the next movie.

I know, but they had way less losses in the boarding than in the Death Star. Also, that's why I said its what I think, not what I know. I would never state a theory as fact unless it was confirmed, but, honestly, that is never going to happen. The Empire's tactics were not that great in that movie.
The rebellion probably did find the tracker.

The Rebel tactics are horrible as well. Why would the fighters attempt a trench run along the surface if it meant that they torpedoes would have to make a 90 degree turn into the exhaust port? They SHOULD have done a vertical dive-bomb on the port so they at least had some room to maneuver. If they had done that, the Gold Squadron Y-wings probably could have destroyed the thing on the first attempt.
