Sorry to rain on the parade, but it rainwater may get contaminated in the process and therefore is generally unsafe to drink so sorry 3rd world kid, you shouldn't do that unless you have a form of filtration system.
yeah it is safe but you know how the water cycle works, there is the problem, as there could be a contaminated lake getting evaporated and eventually will rain down on people, and someone might drink it all in a 15 litre can and possibly die.
