I guess you're right. People who did debate with him were too blinded by rage to think properly.
I think the calmest one I ever saw was a trans person asking him about HRT, and he respectfully asked them to tell their story, and once they did, he told them to focus on loving themself first. As someone who is agender, so therefore falling under the trans umbrella, that made me think too.
As a slight leftie, I feel nothing but sorrow and sympathy for his family. Yes, he has said some things that may have got people like me a bit angry, but he was human. He wasn't actively looking out to harm people. His children have to grow up without a father and with a heartbroken mother who has lost her love. 💔 All because someone couldn't argue with him and chose violence to finish the job. But all the shooter did was make his legacy and the things he said stronger.
